Nigerian singer Spyro has addressed talent manager Paul Okoye, popularly known as PaulO, following the release of financial records showing a ₦12 million investment in him. PaulO, in a recent interview, shared a spreadsheet of expenses, countering Spyro’s claims that he made no money while signed to PaulO’s label for two years.
Spyro acknowledged the records but insisted they validated his previous statements. He recounted instances of maltreatment, including being left stranded in the UK after an event. “I didn’t lie, Oga PaulO. Your sheets further prove my point,” he stated, adding that he faced neglect and humiliation while under the label, despite being a university graduate.
Although Spyro expressed gratitude for PaulO’s contributions to his career, he criticized the treatment of upcoming artists in the label, describing it as dehumanizing. He hinted at revealing more details about his experience but chose to hold back for now, concluding his remarks with a mix of appreciation and unresolved frustration.
