Sultan Declares Commencement of Ramadan 1445 on March 11, 2024

In a historic announcement, the revered Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, officially declared today as the beginning of the sacred month of Ramadan. This proclamation, rooted in the sighting of the moon across the nation on the 29th day of the Month of Shaban, marks the commencement of Ramadan 1445.

Amidst the joyous occasion, the Sultan urged the entire Muslim community in Nigeria to embrace the spirit of Ramadan, commencing their fast today in accordance with Islamic teachings. The moonlit revelation has set the stage for a month of spiritual rejuvenation and devout prayers.

In a heartfelt plea, the spiritual leader implored Muslims to utilize this sacred month to fervently pray for the eradication of insecurity plaguing the nation. Additionally, he called upon the affluent members of the community to extend their generosity to the less privileged, emphasizing the importance of compassion during the Holy month.

Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has extended warm congratulations to the Muslim Ummah, acknowledging the significance of Ramadan 1445. The governor emphasized the blessed nature of this month, urging increased prayers for the country and the state, especially in the face of economic challenges.

Former Osun State governorship aspirant, Dotun Babayemi, echoed the sentiment, calling on Muslim faithful to utilize the Ramadan month as a platform for united prayer. In a rallying cry for a positive outlook on the nation, Babayemi emphasized collective responsibility, urging Nigerians to combine tangible efforts with constant supplications for the prosperity of Nigeria.
