“Sunday Oliseh Expresses Pride and Heartbreak as Super Falcons Exit World Cup”

Sunday Oliseh, former Nigerian international, has shared his mixed emotions following the Super Falcons’ exit from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The team was eliminated in the Round of 16 after a penalty shootout loss to England, ending in a 0-0 draw during regular play.

Oliseh took to Twitter to express his feelings, revealing he was “totally broken” but filled with pride for the Super Falcons. He highlighted the team’s exceptional effort against England, acknowledging the outstanding performance led by coach Randy Waldrum.

Oliseh further emphasized that despite challenges and mistreatment, the Super Falcons have elevated Nigeria’s standing in global football. His tweet read, “Though my heart aches, I’m profoundly proud of our ‘Extra Super’ Falcons today. Despite adversities and sometimes harsh treatment, they’ve reestablished Nigeria’s presence in the world of football. Bless them all!”
