Remi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, praised the Nigerian Female Football Team, Super Falcons, for their performance in the ongoing Female World Cup championship.
Despite their exit from the tournament after losing to the English team, the Lionesses, in a penalty shootout, Mrs. Tinubu commended the team’s dedication. She received the players at the State House, Abuja, along with officials from the Nigeria Football Federation.
Addressing the team, Mrs. Tinubu stated, “You gave your all and we are proud of you. Victory isn’t just about the score; your unbreakable spirit and unity are true signs of success.”
She emphasized that the Falcons’ performance has made them role models for young girls in Nigeria. “You’ve represented Nigeria globally and become role models, especially for young girls who now see their dreams in you.”
The President of the Nigerian Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, expressed gratitude to the First Lady for the warm reception. He assured that the players would continue to represent the country effectively.
