In Rumuodomaya, a community located in the Obio-Akpo Local Government Area of Rivers State, an unidentified young man was reportedly beaten to death by suspected cultists on Saturday. The incident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. along Eligbolo Road.
According to a resident who preferred to remain anonymous, the incident unfolded when residents heard voices and people running in panic. Suddenly, a group of men believed to be cultists began assaulting the victim. The victim pleaded for mercy, but his cries went unanswered until his voice was silenced.
The resident further noted that the police arrived at the scene later and made several arrests in connection with the incident.
Another resident, who also chose to withhold their identity, expressed the unfortunate nature of the situation. They mentioned that nobody came to the victim’s aid early that morning out of fear. It was only after the police arrived that the residents discovered the lifeless body of the man.
