Reality star Tacha Akide has voiced her frustration over how some Nigerians in the UK treat her in public. The former BBNaija housemate, who recently moved to the UK, expressed her disappointment after noticing that fellow Nigerians would rather record her on their phones than greet her.
In a video shared on her Instagram story, Tacha explained that while many Nigerians saw her, none exchanged pleasantries. Instead, they secretly filmed her, which she found upsetting. She compared this to white strangers who openly complimented her, saying she looked beautiful. “I’m not begging you to say ‘Hi,’ but if you won’t, at least don’t record me,” she said.
Her comments have stirred reactions online, with some mocking her for expecting celebrity treatment abroad, while others agreed with her frustration. Some social media users joked that even top celebrities don’t get special attention overseas.
