Tragedy struck in Minna, Niger State, as a 16-year-old girl named Priscilla Galadima lost her life in a devastating accident involving a tanker. The police have officially confirmed the unfortunate incident.
According to DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the state command, the incident occurred at the Shiroro roundabout. Priscilla Galadima, a resident of Barkin-Sale in Minna, was attempting to cross the road when the tragic accident took place.
DSP Abiodun addressed reporters, stating, “On Wednesday around 10 am, a Mercedes Benz with the registration number SUL 140 AJ, driven by Daniel Joshua, aged 35, from Morris Minna, was moving from Mandela road towards the Shiroro roundabout. Unfortunately, in the process, he drove recklessly and scraped a Toyota Yaris with the registration number RJA 375 AA, driven by Abubakar Yahaya from Okada Road.”
He continued, “Rather than stopping, the Mercedes vehicle continued, prompting the Toyota driver to chase it.”
The incident serves as a grim reminder of the potential dangers on the road and the importance of responsible driving.

The situation took a grave turn when Priscilla was hit onto the opposite lane. In a devastating collision, an oncoming tanker trailer with the registration number JMT 576 YR, driven by Ibrahim Lawal from Jembutu Yola, fatally ran over her.
Despite immediate efforts to save her, Priscilla was rushed to General Hospital Minna, where her tragic passing was confirmed. The authorities took swift action, apprehending both drivers involved in the incident. They were subsequently detained at Tudum Wada police division for comprehensive investigation.
In the wake of this heart-wrenching incident, Priscilla’s remains were respectfully placed in the Minna General Hospital’s morgue. The tragic event serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving.
