Tragedy struck in Johannesburg, South Africa, as an 18-year-old teenager allegedly poisoned his 3-year-old brother in a shocking attempt to inflict pain on their parents. According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Lumka Mahanjana, the incident occurred on January 31, 2025, in Drieziek Extension 3, Orange Farm.
The child’s mother initially assumed her youngest son was playing at a neighbor’s house but became alarmed when he failed to return by 1 p.m. Meanwhile, a witness reportedly saw the accused dumping his brother’s lifeless body at a refuse site while taking his sheep to graze. The following day, the teenager turned himself in to the police, confessing to the crime and revealing his motive.

Upon being confronted, the accused retrieved the body from the dump, brought it home, and informed their mother. Emergency responders later arrived and confirmed the child’s death.
