Tems Dedicates Grammy Award to Her Mother

Nigerian music sensation Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, secured a historic win at the 67th Grammy Awards, taking home the Best African Music Performance award for her hit song Love Me JeJe. Overcome with emotion, she dedicated the award to her mother, expressing deep gratitude for her sacrifices.

In her heartfelt acceptance speech, Tems acknowledged God for her journey and credited her mother for shaping her life. “Tomorrow is my mum’s birthday, and this is her first Grammys. She has done so much for me and my brother,” she shared. The singer also thanked her team, including her manager Muyiwa, stylist, and close friends, for their unwavering support.

Tems’ victory saw her triumph over industry heavyweights like Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Wizkid, and Yemi Alade. As she celebrated the milestone, she reaffirmed her belief in God’s transformative power, stating, “To God be the glory—He has changed my life so much.”
