Adekunle, a former housemate from BBNaija’s ‘All Stars’ edition, has revealed his reasons for declining gifts from fans and discussed his relationship with Venita outside the Big Brother house during a recent radio interview.
Adekunle made it clear that he does not wish to receive any gifts from fans. He explained that fans and shippers often develop certain expectations when they support a contestant due to their association with a specific housemate. He expressed concern that if fans offer gifts and then the ship, or relationship, ends, they may turn against the contestant, accusing them of manipulation.
Adekunle further stated that he has instructed his own fans not to give him any gifts to avoid potential situations where they might feel he owes them something.
Regarding his relationship with Venita, he clarified that it was primarily a product of their shared living space within the Big Brother house, where contestants are isolated and may not have a deep understanding of one another. He emphasized that neither he nor Venita had the opportunity to observe each other’s behavior outside the house, as their interactions were confined to the show’s environment.
