During a coronation in the early hours of Saturday, at Nkomoro Community in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, no fewer than ten vehicles sustained damage.
This came after fierce conflict erupted around the kingship.
In addition to the fact that many people managed to escape death, homes, motorcycles, and other priceless possessions were completely destroyed by fire.
Journalists who were invited to cover the coronation were among those targeted.
Uchenna Nya, the Ebonyi State Correspondent for The Sun Newspaper, Chinelo Okoro of Radio Nigeria Unity FM, Abakaliki, and other newsmen are among those who were attacked.
As they emerged from the coronation site, they were struck with stones and other potentially lethal objects.
Numerous others, including Amaechi Nwakpa, a magistrate affiliated with the state judiciary, police officers, and soldiers, managed to avoid death.
The choice of a traditional ruler for the area has caused problems among the Nkomoro community.
But the coronation was interrupted when the hired goons broke into the town to disrupt the election and coronation of a new traditional monarch.
