Thugs in Kogi Kidnap Monarch, Demands 5M ransom

Chief Abdulkerim Aliyu, the district head of Ofugo at Opulega in the Ankpa LGA of Kogi State, has reportedly been abducted by thugs suspected of being kidnappers. They have demanded N5m in ransom.
The event took place over the weekend around 7:30 pm, when the thugs broke into his palace and abducted him.
Locals said that hoodlums from Kogi State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department, Lokoja, came to his home and abducted him in his Lexus jeep for an unknown interview at their headquarters.

On Sunday, his Lexus Jeep was observed parked near Ikanekpo, a village before Opulega, along the Anyigba-Ankpa road.

“At that point, it became clear to us that the district head was abducted and not in custody.

According to Danladi jibo, a local, “His kidnappers have called the members of his family and demanded a N5 million ransom.”

As at the time this report was filed, SP William Aya, the state police public relations officer (PPRO), had not responded to any questions on the incident.
