Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo has called on Pastor Femi Lazarus to name the gospel artist who allegedly demanded $10,000 to perform at a church event. This comes after Lazarus claimed a gospel singer sent an invoice listing the fee, along with a 40-person crew, first-class flights, luxury hotel stays, and full accommodation.
Reacting, Dakolo dismissed the claim, saying no gospel singer in Nigeria has a 40-man crew. He urged Nigerians not to believe everything they see and asked Lazarus to reveal the artist’s name to back up his statement.
Meanwhile, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has criticized the music industry for exploiting the church for decades. He lamented that many musicians start in church but later go secular, only returning with negative influences. He warned pastors to be cautious about who handles church music, stressing that some artists prioritize money over spiritual growth.
