President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that the difficult decisions made by his administration are intended to bring long-term relief to the nation. Speaking at the opening of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Annual General Conference in Lagos, Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, emphasized the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and fostering democracy.
Acknowledging the challenges brought on by recent policies, including the removal of fuel subsidies, Tinubu expressed confidence that these measures would ultimately benefit citizens. He urged Nigerians to remain patient and resolute as the country works towards sustainable development and rebuilding.
Tinubu also reaffirmed his administration’s respect for the separation of powers and tolerance for differing opinions within the law. He emphasized that while the changes are challenging, they are necessary for Nigeria’s progress, and relief is expected in the near future.
