President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Fola , the Founder of Guaranty Trust, as he celebrates his 70th birthday. Fola Adeola’s illustrious career includes co-founding GTB Plc in 1990 alongside Tayo Aderinokun. Before this venture, Adeola held the position of Deputy General Manager and Divisional Head of the Financial Services Division at Continental Merchant Bank Limited from 1986 to 1990.
Educationally accomplished, Femi earned his HND in Accountancy from Yaba College of Technology. He further enriched his credentials with degrees from esteemed institutions such as the London School of Accountancy, the International Institute for Management Development, the Lagos Business School, and the Harvard Business School.
Beyond his accomplishments in the private sector, Adeola has made notable contributions in the public domain. He served as the Chairman of the National Pension Commission and played a pivotal role as the head of the Lagos State Disaster Relief Committee, established in the aftermath of the January 27, 2002, Lagos armoury explosion.

In the political sphere, Fola Adeola took on the role of Vice-Presidential candidate for the Action Congress of Nigeria during the 2011 presidential elections, serving as the running mate to former Economic and Financial Crimes Commission chairman, Nuhu Ribadu.
Adeola’s commitment to societal development is further evident through his role as the founder and chairman of the FATE Foundation and his membership in the Commission for Africa.
