President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the Nigerian Army and the families of six soldiers killed in an attack by ISWAP terrorists on a Forward Operating Base in Damboa, Borno State. The assault, which occurred on Saturday, resulted in tragic losses but also prompted a robust military response.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu honored the soldiers’ sacrifices and called for a thorough investigation to understand the circumstances of the attack. He praised the Armed Forces for their swift retaliatory strikes, which significantly neutralized the attackers and destroyed their assets. This action, he noted, showcases the military’s resolve to secure the nation.
The President encouraged the military to intensify efforts against terrorists and bandits, particularly in the Northwest, while urging Nigerians and the media to rally behind the Armed Forces. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating threats and ensuring lasting peace across the nation.
