Tinubu Replaces FRCN, NBC, and VON Heads, Appoints New NAN MD

n a recent move, President Bola Tinubu has appointed new Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) for several parastatals and agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation. These appointments come into effect immediately and encompass essential organizations responsible for shaping and disseminating information and messages on behalf of the Nigerian government.

The eight appointed CEOs will take the helm at key institutions, including the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Voice of Nigeria (VON), Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), and the Nigerian Press Council.

The appointments were made following private discussions between President Tinubu and the Information Minister, Mohammed Idris, at the State House in Abuja. These selections reflect the government’s commitment to instilling effective leadership and competence within agencies responsible for shaping public perceptions and communicating the nation’s messages to both domestic and international audiences.

The newly appointed CEOs and their respective agencies are as follows:

  • National Orientation Agency (NOA): Mr. Lanre Issa-Onilu
  • Nigerian Television Authority (NTA): Mr. Salihu Dembo
  • Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN): Dr. Muhammed Bulama, who replaces Dr. Mansir Liman
  • National Broadcasting Commission (NBC): Mr. Charles Ebuebu, who takes over from Balarabe Illelah
  • Voice of Nigeria (VON): Mr. Jibrin Ndace, who succeeds Osita Okechukwu
  • Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON): Dr. Lekan Fadolapo
  • News Agency of Nigeria (NAN): Mr. Ali Ali
  • Nigerian Press Council: Mr. Dili Ezughah

The President has charged the newly appointed leaders with the task of innovating and creating fresh opportunities for Nigerians. Their mission is to reform these key government institutions effectively, unifying the nation, reshaping public mindsets, and showcasing Nigeria to the world.
