Tinubu Unveils Vision, Urges Patience in Lagos

In a town hall meeting at the State House in Marina, Lagos State, President Bola Tinubu outlined his administration’s commitment to a comprehensive “financial re-engineering,” assuring Nigerians that this transformative effort will lead to unprecedented economic opportunities.

Addressing traditional rulers, chairpersons of Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas, and other political office holders in the state, President Tinubu acknowledged the challenges in accessing him due to the monumental nature of his current responsibilities.

“The financial re-engineering of our country is ongoing. We are determined to deliver Nigeria safely through the tunnel of hope, stability, and economic prosperity. Nigeria is in good hands,” President Tinubu declared.

His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, conveyed the President’s commitment to revamping Nigeria’s economy and fostering inclusive opportunities for youth participation in a labor-intensive economy.

President Tinubu emphasized the collaborative nature of the task, urging citizens to be patient and support the ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing the economy.

“For those having difficulty seeing me, kindly note that this job is monumental. It is not a one-man job. It is a collective task, and you have to be able to listen, decipher, tolerate, and sometimes what you do not expect will happen,” he explained.

The President expressed condolences over the recent passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredeolu of Ondo and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’Abba. Reflecting on the transient nature of power, he highlighted the value of life and the importance of contributing to the well-being of future generations.

Revisiting his tenure as the Governor of Lagos State (1999 – 2007), President Tinubu acknowledged the challenges faced and the successful transformation achieved. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu thanked Tinubu for his leadership, citing the enduring legacy and blueprint created by the former Governor.

The Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, used the opportunity to call for a constitutional amendment recognizing the essential role of traditional rulers.

Wednesday’s town hall meeting marked President Tinubu’s second public gathering since his arrival in Lagos for the holidays a week ago. The President urged citizens to look forward to an era of economic prosperity under his renewed administration.
