Kidnapped Church Members Freed After Ransom Payment

In a welcome turn of events, members of the Christ Apostolic Church in Oke Igan, Akure, Ondo State, who were abducted just a week ago, were released on Thursday evening. The release came after their families paid a hefty ransom of N50 million to the kidnappers.

The victims had been kidnapped while traveling to Ifon, along the Benin-Akure Expressway, in the Elegbeka area of Ose Local Government Area last Friday. Their ordeal came to an end at the same Elegbeka location where they were initially taken captive.

This development brings a sense of relief to the families and the entire community, as they had anxiously awaited the safe return of their loved ones. Further details regarding their release are expected to emerge in due course.
