A tragic incident unfolded in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State as bandits ambushed a convoy of traders, resulting in the death of at least six individuals. The traders were en route from Maidabino village to participate in a weekly market located in Yantumaki, within the same local government area.
According to residents, the traders, aware of the security situation in the region, traveled in convoys for safety. The convoy was attacked by the bandits shortly before reaching Yantumaki. The assailants, emerging from a forest, opened fire on the vehicles, leading to casualties among the traders.

While details of the incident are yet to be fully ascertained, residents reported that security operatives, including troops and the police, responded to the scene. The Katsina State Police Command confirmed the incident but stated that detailed information was not immediately available.
