A devastating auto accident along the Osogbo/Gbongan Road in Osun State has resulted in the loss of seven lives and left three others injured. The tragic incident occurred at the Ogidi village axis and involved an ash-colored Nissan Sharon car with the registration number: WWD57AE, as reported by Channels.
According to an eyewitness account, the driver of the vehicle, who was traveling from Osogbo to Odeomu, was reportedly speeding when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and fall into a ditch.
Henry Benamaisai, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun State, has officially confirmed the accident, noting that it took place on a Saturday. Ten individuals were involved in the tragic accident, with seven losing their lives, and the three injured victims rushed to Osun State University Teaching Hospital Osogbo for medical attention. The deceased individuals have been placed in the morgue at the same hospital.
Both FRSC officials and operatives of the Nigeria Police Force collaborated in responding to the accident. During their operations, two bags containing clothing items were recovered from the scene.
