Two students detained by Ogun police for burning school.

According to the Ogun State Police Command, two kids were taken into custody for allegedly setting fire to their school in the Ifo Local Government Area of the state, located in the Isheri-Olofin area.
This was revealed in a statement released on Sunday by Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson.
Odutola reported that once the minors gained entry to the school, they collected the teacher-left books and burned them on fire, causing damage to the educational materials.
“Two students from Community Primary School in Isheri Olofin, who are both residents of the Isheri Olofin community and are six and nine years old, have been apprehended for setting fire to their school and school property on October 29, 2023,” the statement read.

“A community chief reported the incident to the police.” The report claims that the youngsters were able to enter one of the Community Primary School Isheri Olofin’s unlocked classrooms. They then went ahead and collected all of the textbooks that the students and professors had left behind and burned them. It is currently uncertain how much the damaged books are worth.

She stated, “The Anti-Crime and Detectives Unit visited the scene after receiving the report and brought the alleged children to the police station for interrogation.”
Odutola went on to say that the minor’s parents would be contacted to inquire about the circumstances surrounding the children’s acts.

Since it’s a pretty serious offense for young kids to get involved in, the police have begun asking how to get in touch with their parents.
If there are additional people who may have encouraged the kids, the police will investigate and inform the public in due course, she said.
