Nyon, Switzerland – UEFA, the governing body of European football, has announced that no matches organized by the organization will take place in Israel “until further notice” due to the prevailing “safety and security situation” in the country. The decision was communicated in an official statement released on Thursday.
The statement by UEFA’s executive committee reads: “After a thorough evaluation of the current safety and security situation in the whole territory of Israel, the UEFA executive committee decided that no UEFA competition matches shall be played in Israel until further notice.”
