Big Brother Naija alumna, Venita Akpofure, shared candid advice against early marriage during a conversation with fellow reality star Tacha on The Big Friday Show. Venita stressed the significance of enjoying one’s youth and gaining diverse life experiences before considering marriage, particularly cautioning against marrying before the age of 28.

In the discussion, She advised against rushing into marriage, stating, “Don’t marry young o! Don’t go and do ‘I’m doing high school sweetheart. We die here.’ Just be young! Enjoy your life. When you’re tired, get married.”
The mother of two extended her advice, specifically for her daughter, expressing that she would disapprove if her daughter approached her with plans to marry before the age of 28. Venita underscored the importance of individuals fully discovering themselves before committing to marriage, acknowledging that while some may mature early, exploring various aspects of life is crucial for making informed decisions.
“Don’t get me wrong, there are people who are mature, oh. But you need to try different things in life, different experiences, to be sure of okay, I want to be stuck here. Because it’s handcuff, you’re there,” Venita explained.
Drawing from her own experience, Venita, who is divorced, provided insights into the challenges of long-term commitment. She even suggested the concept of separate yet connected rooms for couples to maintain independence and potentially prevent conflicts. Venita’s advice has sparked discussions on social media, with many weighing in on the significance of age and life experiences in making decisions about marriage.
