Victor Osimhen Breaks Decade-Old Turkish Record

Victor Osimhen’s sensational start to life in the Turkish Super Lig hit new heigths this weekend.

Victor Osimhen broke a decade-long record during Galatasaray’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Samsunspor.

Osimhen’s two-goal performance not only propelled his team to their fourth consecutive league win but also cemented his place in Turkish football, showcasing his incredible influence since joining the club.

The Nigerian forward opened the scoring just three minutes into the match, heading in a perfect cross from Lucas Torreira. Samsunspor equalized in the 50th minute through Olivier Ntcham’s penalty, but Osimhen quickly restored Galatasaray’s lead five minutes later by capitalizing on a goalkeeper error, netting his second header of the night.

Michy Batshuayi added a late goal to secure Galatasaray‘s 31st point of the season, keeping them at the top of the table.

Beyond the crucial win, Osimhen’s brace carried historic significance. He became the first player in 10 years to either score or assist in each of his first sic Super Lig matches, a feat last achieved on the 2014/15 season.

Osimhen’s smooth adaptation to Turkish football has been impressive, with 21 goal contributions (eight goals, four assists) in his first nine appearances for Galatasaray across all competitions.

His electric form has bolstered Galatasaray’s lead in Super Lig and raised expectations for even greater achievements as the season progresses.
