Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, to participate in the 37th annual Akesan Festival. Shettima, serving as the special guest of honour, was accompanied by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and the Governors of Kogi and Kwara States, Yahaya Bello and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, respectively.

The visit was confirmed by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), through a tweet. The Vice President was received by the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi), former Speaker Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole, members of the Ogun State Executive Council, and other dignitaries.

The Akesan Festival is an annual cultural celebration in Iperu Remo, showcasing traditional music, dance, and various cultural performances. The presence of high-profile political figures adds significance to the event, emphasizing the cultural and social importance of the festival.
