Victor Osimhen’s future remains a major talking point in the football world, with several elite European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, showing keen interest in securing his services.
Amid the growing speculation, former Arsenal and Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant has added his voice to those advocating for Chelsea to sign the Nigerian striker. He joins Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel in urging the club to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea has been searching for a consistent goal scorer for multiple seasons. While their current striker, Nicolas Jackson, has shown moments of brilliance, his inconsistency has left the Blues still in need of a reliable finisher.
Although Chelsea pursued Osimhen last summer, they were unable to finalize a deal. Now, speaking on talkSPORT, Pennant has emphasized that the club should prioritize signing the prolific forward.

When asked whether Osimhen’s arrival would make Chelsea title contenders, Pennant confidently responded, “Without a shadow of a doubt. He knows how to score. His numbers are frightening. They were great at Napoli.”
“We see how often Jackson gets chances, but his conversion rate isn’t great. He can have three or four clear-cut chances and miss them all, leaving you scratching your head, wondering how Chelsea ended up with a draw or a loss. Someone like Osimhen, if he finds a goal, will only boost Chelsea or any team.”

With Manchester United, Arsenal, and PSG reportedly prepared to trigger Osimhen’s €75 million release clause, Chelsea must act swiftly if they intend to bring him to London.
The Nigerian forward has been in exceptional form this season, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists in 30 appearances while on loan at Galatasaray.

John Obi Mikel, a Chelsea icon and former Super Eagles captain, previously stated that Osimhen could be a transformative signing for the club. Pennant’s endorsement further strengthens the argument in favor of the move.
As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes are on Stamford Bridge. Will Chelsea finally secure Osimhen’s signature, or will another club swoop in and beat them to the deal?
