The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Olusola Odumosu, has urged his personnel to increase their efforts in protecting critical infrastructure within the territory.
Following FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s recent directive for the NSCDC and related agencies to enhance security measures and eliminate crime in the city, Odumosu addressed all personnel, including Area Commanders and Divisional Officers across the FCT’s area councils. He underscored the significance of preventing vandalism and other criminal activities in Abuja.
In a statement by FCT Spokesperson Okomanyi Comfort, Odumosu emphasized the minister’s expectations from the NSCDC and encouraged personnel to deliver accordingly. He stressed that the NSCDC must not waver in fulfilling its role as a security organization responsible for safeguarding critical infrastructure.
He remarked, “We have been assured of the necessary tools to perform our duties, and we must achieve positive outcomes as I will not accept any excuses for failure. The minister’s expectations are high, and we must not disappoint.”
Odumosu emphasized the value of implementing effective strategies, building structures, and developing infrastructure. He urged personnel to maintain their commitment to their duties, upholding traits of civility, professionalism, discipline, hard work, and dedication.
