Tragedy unfolded in Lafiyagi Dzwafu village, Niger State, where 27-year-old Fatima Dzuma was arrested for allegedly killing her 25-year-old husband, Baba Aliyu. The incident happened during preparations for the naming ceremony of Aliyu’s first wife’s newborn child.
According to reports, Dzuma admitted to killing her husband after years of unresolved conflicts and alleged physical abuse. She confessed to using a rope to strangle him while he slept and striking him with a pestle. Dzuma then disposed of the body in a nearby bush before attempting to clean up the evidence.
Niger State Police confirmed the discovery of Aliyu’s body and Dzuma’s confession. The suspect is in custody, with further investigations ongoing. The case highlights the tragic consequences of unresolved domestic disputes.
