A Zimbabwean man’s birthday turned into a nightmare after he discovered used condoms under his bed and confronted his wife, only to be attacked and thrown out of his home. Kenias Zimbwa told the Harare Civil Court that his wife, Chipiwa Taruona, hired thugs—including her brother, a soldier—to beat him up and toss him outside naked. He claimed his wife had denied him intimacy for months, mistreated him, and even attacked him with a screwdriver in the past.
In her defense, Chipiwa admitted to hiring the attackers but insisted it was retaliation for years of alleged abuse by her husband. Despite Zimbwa’s plea for protection, Magistrate Meenal Narotam ruled in Chipiwa’s favor, granting her a protection order instead. The shocking case has left many questioning the dynamics of justice in domestic disputes.
