Young Nigerians under the Take-It-Back Movement took to the streets on Monday in cities like Lagos, Abuja, Oyo, and Rivers to protest the rising hardship in the country. This came even after police had warned them to cancel the protest.
Wearing their usual orange berets, the protesters gathered in Ikeja, Lagos, and marched peacefully while singing and chanting. Police officers were seen around the area, but the protest went on without trouble. The group said they were protesting the bad economy and the state of emergency in Rivers State.

Activist Omoyele Sowore, who supports the movement, said the protest had nothing to do with disturbing Police Day events. He insisted it was about speaking up for ordinary Nigerians. Peaceful protests were also held in Ibadan, Oyo State, with no reports of violence
