Yusuf Alabi, the 15-year-old boy who went viral during Peter Obi’s Lagos campaign rally in 2023, is now reportedly in Kirikiri prison. He became famous after a photo showed him standing bravely in front of Obi’s convoy.
According to a social media user named Brownie, He was stopped by some area boys while going home from work. They took his phone and handed him over to security men. Brownie said the boys were angry because they felt Yusuf didn’t share the gifts he got after the elections
Yusuf is now facing charges of theft and assault, and his court case has been moved to April 28, 2025. Many Nigerians online are calling for justice and asking human rights groups to step in and help him.
