In a recent session, the Kano State House of Assembly received a proposed supplementary budget for 2023 from Governor Abba Yusuf. The supplementary budget, totaling over N58 billion, was presented during the plenary session, which was presided over by Speaker Isma’il Falgore.
The speaker emphasized that the executive branch had submitted the supplementary budget for approval in accordance with sections 121 (a) and (b) of the 1999 constitution. He clarified that the state government’s intention behind this proposed supplementary budget for 2023 was to enhance its ability to achieve its objectives by expediting the execution of priority projects.
Following this development, the House adjourned the session to reconvene on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. This decision was made through a motion put forward by the Majority Leader, Lawan Dala, and seconded by Sule Shuwaki.
