Zamfara Governor Calls Security Chiefs Regarding University Student Abduction

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has called for an emergency security meeting following the recent abduction of several students from the Federal University Gusau. The kidnapping occurred at their off-campus residence in Sabo Gida village, Bungudu Local Government Area.

The emergency security council meeting was convened to address the immediate release of the abducted individuals and find a lasting solution to the ongoing security challenges in the state. Governor Lawal directed Deputy Governor Mani Mallam Mummuni to provide full support to security agencies in restoring normalcy in affected areas.

Security chiefs assured the Deputy Governor of their dedication to reestablishing peace in the state. They reported successful rescues of six kidnapped victims and the elimination of numerous kidnappers. Security forces continue to pursue the remaining kidnappers to ensure the safe rescue of all victims.

Deputy Governor Mani Mallam Mummuni urged security agencies to enhance their presence in volatile regions for improved surveillance. He reassured the people of Zamfara that security forces are working diligently to address the current security situation.
