120 cult suspects detained in Ogun, 100 be to held for three months

The campaign against cultists in the state is total, according to AIG Sola Subair (rtd.), the special adviser to the governor of Ogun State on security, who revealed that 120 of them had been detained in the previous three months across the state, with 100 of them being placed on remand.

This is in line with what he indicated: that the state administration will not tolerate anyone who enjoys upsetting the tranquility in the state, regardless of how well-connected they may be.

Subair revealed this to the Akarigbo and Paramount monarch of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, at a security meeting conducted on Friday in Sagamu.

Other members of the Ogun State government’s security team were also present at the meeting, including all of the divisional police officers in Sagamu, senior special assistant on security Hon. Biyi Odubote, and consultant to the governor on security CP Awolowo Ajogun (rtd).

The purpose of the meeting, according to Subair, was to brief the Paramount ruler on the security situation in Remoland, particularly in Sagamu, which had recently been the scene of some rival cult killings. Subair claimed that the state government’s determination to wage war against all forms of criminality had contributed to the improvement of the situation.

“Kabiyesi, we are here to brief you about the security situation in your territory,” he added, introducing himself as your son and the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun. The governor has consistently reaffirmed his intention to take legal action against anyone attempting to disturb the quiet in any region of the state. Not fewer than 120 cultists have been detained over the past three months, and 100 of them are currently being held on remand due to court orders.

“As of right now, Remoland has significantly increased the protection of people’s lives and property, and the governor has also committed to not granting any breathing room to any criminally inclined individuals or groups since, as we all know, progress and development cannot occur in the absence of peace. To keep up this pace and continue ensuring everyone’s safety in our state, we need everyone’s participation.

In response, the Akarigbo, Oba Adewale Ajayi, praised Gov. Dapo Abiodun for being proactive and working to make sure that everyone may live safely in every area of the state.

Oba Adewale Ajayi praised Gov. Abiodun in particular for giving a second armored personnel carrier to aid in the town’s fight against crime, noting that this noble deed also increased community members’ sense of security.

In order to help the government cleanse the state of all sorts of criminality, the royal father promised the cooperation of all other traditional rulers and the people of Remoland.

Oba Adewale Osiberu, Elepe of Epe, Sagamu, Oba Oriyomi Soile, Radanuwa of Idado, Sagamu, and Chief Adebayo Onafuwa, Bamofin of Remoland were also present at the event.
