Thirteen passengers aboard a Benue State-owned transport firm van, Benue Links, are reportedly missing after gunmen ambushed them on the state’s crumbling Naka road.
Reporters learned that, in a related incident, a man, his wife, and their driver were reportedly kidnapped on Monday morning while driving along the same Naka route.
According to witnesses, the armed men attacked the passengers on Thursday while they were riding the Benue Links bus from Otukpo to Makurdi via the Naka road in the Gwer West Local Government Area of the state. The attack happened at Tyolaha village.
A witness revealed that, the bus had sixteen people, but only three of the victims managed to flee before the gunmen led the remaining victims into the jungle.
