“20 Suspected Manhole Thieves Arrested by FCT NSCDC”

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory Command, has apprehended and presented 20 individuals accused of stealing manholes and damaging government property across various areas in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

NSCDC’s FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, stated on Monday that the Corps would no longer tolerate the activities of scavengers within the city center.

Odumosu remarked, “To combat the increasing cases of theft and vandalism that have been negatively affecting the FCT Metropolis, the Command took proactive measures.”

During these operations, 20 suspects were arrested and subjected to thorough interviews and profiling. They will subsequently be handed over to the Abuja Environmental Protection Board for prosecution.

The commandant emphasized that criminal behavior would not be tolerated in the FCT anymore, and the government is resolute in safeguarding vital national assets and infrastructure.

Among the paraded suspects are John Ahmed, Abba Musa, Jack Ikekwe, Kabir Dauda Ummar, Peter Eseh James, Monday Magaji, Ukechukwu Ifeanyi, Anthony Obey, Habibu Abubakar, Flavour Amos, Collins Erriom, Abdulrazk Lawal, Enwa Richard Ineji, Emeka Charles, Humphrey James, Ibrahim Umar, Iheancho Godfrey, Aliyu Abdullahi, and Saniyu Abubakar.
