In the continuation of our exploration into the profound reaches of Jesus’ love, we delve into the lives of five more unlikely individuals who experienced the transformative touch of His compassion.
Each narrative unfolds as a testament to the boundless nature of divine affection, reaching those society might deem improbable recipients. From notorious figures to the spiritually blind, these stories serve as poignant reminders that Jesus’ transcends societal expectations and embraces the unlikeliest of hearts. Join us on this inspiring journey as we unveil the next chapter of “5 Unlikely Individuals Touched by Jesus’ Love – Part 2.”
4. Judas Iscariot

Did Jesus extend His affection to Judas? He humbly washed Judas’s feet, just as He did for the other disciples, fully aware that betrayal was imminent within hours. Jesus’s love transcends our reciprocal affection for Him. Even towards those who orchestrated His crucifixion, and those today who scorn His name by refusing belief, Jesus exemplifies unwavering love. Despite spending three years with Jesus, Judas never acknowledged Him as Lord; his allegiance was to money. Nevertheless, Jesus continued to love Judas, just as He loved all of us when we were still sinners.
“This is how God showed his love among us: he sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” (1 John 4:9 NIV)
5. The Apostle Paul
Before adopting the name Paul, he was known as Saul, a formidable adversary to Christians.
“While Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples…” (Acts 9:1a NIV)
Similar to the encounter at the well with the Samaritan woman, Jesus orchestrated a divine meeting with Saul. Intent on apprehending Christians for transport to Jerusalem, Saul’s journey to Damascus was abruptly halted by a brilliant light.
Falling to the ground, he heard a voice inquire, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?’ (Acts 9:4 NIV)
Saul experienced both physical and spiritual blindness, but soon, both were lifted.
Jesus demonstrated love towards a man actively persecuting His church. You may have someone in your life seemingly distant from salvation, someone you’ve nearly given up on. Regardless of their indifference to Christianity, persist in praying for Jesus to open their eyes, just as He did for Saul.
Dear friend, may you feel the embrace of Jesus today, reassured of His affection for you and those who haven’t yet turned to Him for salvation. I encourage you to fervently pray for your loved ones, even if fatigue sets in from lifting up the same names year after year.
If you still carry the weight of guilt and shame from your past, remember, much like the five unlikely individuals, Jesus loves you. Take your shame to Him, and release that burden once and for all. Isn’t it comforting to know that Jesus extends His love to unlikely people like us?
