Flavour Opens Up About Past Addiction Struggle

Nigerian singer Flavour has opened up about a difficult period in his life, revealing that he struggled with masturbation for about two years before eventually overcoming the habit. Speaking during a live TikTok session with friends, the music star explained that the addiction began after he lost his virginity and later stopped seeing the woman involved. He said the absence of a sexual partner, coupled with exposure to Mapouka dance videos introduced by a friend, made the habit increasingly difficult to overcome.

Flavour disclosed that the addiction affected his confidence and daily interactions, leaving him feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable around friends. He also revealed that he initially sought spiritual help through his mother’s pastor, who advised him to embark on a 21-day fast and prayer. Although he completed the exercise, the singer said the addiction returned a few days later, prompting him to continue searching for a solution.

According to Flavour, a conversation with a fellow bassist later changed the course of his journey. He claimed the musician believed the problem was linked to his youth and lack of sexual activity, leading him to introduce him to a brothel. Flavour said he subsequently used part of his earnings from playing musical instruments to visit brothels regularly, a decision he believes eventually helped him stop the addiction and move forward with his life.
