Paul Ibe, media adviser to ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has backed Governor Seyi Makinde’s call for a UN investigation into the Oyo kidnapping following fresh claims by a released teacher. The support came after school counsellor Olatunde Zaccheaus alleged that the victims were released by their captors and not rescued by security operatives as earlier announced.
Reacting to the revelation, Ibe questioned the Federal Government’s account of the incident, saying the conflicting narratives have raised serious concerns. He argued that the claims have revived debates over alleged ransom payments and other conspiracy theories surrounding recent kidnappings.
Ibe said Makinde’s UN investigation into the Oyo kidnapping is necessary to establish the truth behind the incident and similar abductions across the country. He maintained that an independent international probe would help restore public confidence and uncover what really happened.
