The remains of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have arrived in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, ahead of his burial. Naija News reports that Hassan, who died at the age of 66 on Sunday, was received by grieving family members, friends, colleagues and residents as preparations for his final rites began.

Veteran actors Yinka Quadri and Jide Kosoko were among the Nollywood personalities who arrived in Ilaro to mourn with Hassan’s family. Actress Ireti Osayemi was also present as footage of her arrival circulated on social media.

Ogogo died on August 23, 2026, after reportedly battling stage-four cancer. His daughters, Kira and Lima Taiwo, had earlier appealed for urgent assistance after doctors reportedly said chemotherapy could no longer be administered because of his condition. According to the burial programme, a lying-in-state ceremony was scheduled for Monday at the Pavilion in Ilaro ahead of his burial.
