Troops of the Nigerian Army, under Operation Hadin Kai, have successfully repelled an early morning attack by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Malam Fatori, Borno State. The operation, carried out with support from the Nigerian Air Force, resulted in the elimination of dozens of insurgents.
According to security sources, the attackers attempted to infiltrate a military position using ground forces and armed drones but were met with strong resistance. Coordinated air strikes and ground operations forced the insurgents to retreat after sustaining heavy losses.
The operation also received support from allied forces from Niger Republic. While four soldiers sustained minor injuries, they have been treated and are in stable condition. Military authorities say the joint effort highlights improved coordination in ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the region.
