Veteran Nollywood actor Abiodun Ayoyinka has announced a new stage name, Bondu Alaska, marking a major shift from the famous character Papa Ajasco that defined much of his career. In a video shared online, the actor introduced himself with the new identity and thanked Nigerians for their support during recent public attention surrounding him.

Ayoyinka also updated his Instagram handle to reflect the new name and encouraged fans, brands, and the public to address him as Bondu Alaska going forward. He described the change as a fresh chapter in his life and promised not to disappoint those who continue to support him.

The decision follows a dispute with Wale Adenuga Productions over the rights to the Papa Ajasco brand. According to Ayoyinka, the name is trademarked by the company, which means he cannot use it for commercial purposes, despite playing the character for many years.
