Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi was spotted shopping at an Abuja supermarket on Saturday, where he bought a few personal items before spending time interacting with staff and fellow shoppers. Photos from the visit were shared by his former campaign photographer, Esther Umoh.

According to Umoh, Peter Obi shopping at Abuja supermarket reflects his habit of staying connected with ordinary Nigerians by experiencing the same markets, prices and economic realities faced by citizens. She added that he warmly engaged employees and customers during the visit.

Obi, who served as Anambra State governor from 2006 to 2014, is currently the NDC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election. His latest public appearance comes months after he was seen buying groundnuts at Abuja’s Utako Market in a video that attracted widespread attention.
