An 84-year-old man named Gabriel Uhuwa has admitted to killing his wife because she wouldn’t have sex with him.
The elderly man explicitly stated that he had heard that pastors had been having affairs with the deceased.
Uhuwa was one of the 198 suspects listed by the spokesperson for the Edo State Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, for offences including as armed robbery, abduction, unlawful possession of guns, murder, and cultism.
The suspect was detained, according to the command’s public relations officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, for allegedly killing his 75-year-old wife due to sex troubles.
The father of seven children claimed in a press interview that it took his wife a very long time to agree to having sex with him.
But after carrying out the action, he admitted regretting it.
My wife was not paying attention to me, he claimed. She constantly said no when I invited her to join me in bed. Together, we have seven kids: five boys and two girls. The suspect claimed that after discussing the situation with his children, one of her daughters went to talk to the suspect’s wife but she refused to listen.
“I brought up the issue with my family and her family members, but she didn’t listen to them and kept acting the same way she always had, and I was hearing rumors that pastors were having affairs with her. She would always claim to be ill or have an ulcer when I requested sex, but I was hearing rumors that she was having extramarital affairs, and I don’t have the money to pay for prostitutes.
“After I complained, my children stopped calling me and stopped sending me money after my late wife turned them against him. So I took a cutlass and machete into the house on Saturday last week in the afternoon. I did it out of resentment because she wasn’t complying with my orders, and I wanted everybody to know about it.
