Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno has dismissed claims that he conspired with Minister Ekperikpo Ekpo to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambitions. In a statement, his spokesperson, Ekerete Udoh, labeled the accusations a “politically motivated hatchet job” filled with lies and blackmail.
The allegations, made by a group of “Concerned APC Members” in Akwa Ibom, claimed Eno was plotting to support a Northern presidential candidate in 2027. Udoh refuted the claims, emphasizing the governor’s commitment to bipartisan collaboration and strong ties with President Tinubu and other APC leaders.
Governor Eno reiterated his focus on governance and fostering unity in Akwa Ibom, accusing the group of attempting to disrupt the peace and progress of the state. He remains dedicated to advancing development and working harmoniously with federal and state leaders.
