The Lagos State chapter of the Accord Party has expressed optimism about its chances in the upcoming Surulere I Federal Constituency bye-election. The state chairman of the party, Mr. Dele Oladeji, revealed in an interview that the party had already commenced preparations for the election, with primary elections on the horizon.
Oladeji emphasized the readiness of Accord Party aspirants for the election, stating, “We are very positive of winning. The acceptability of our candidate will give us the edge in this election, coupled with the not-too-good performance of the ruling party at the central.”

Expressing optimism about victory, Oladeji highlighted the importance of a free, peaceful, and credible poll. He acknowledged the weight of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the constituency, particularly the influence of Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila. However, he affirmed that Accord Party would present a strong challenge, emphasizing ongoing mobilization efforts.
