Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has issued a directive to security agencies in the state to put an end to the recent violent attacks in Ilesa, which have resulted in the deaths of about five residents in less than a week. These violent incidents are reportedly caused by clashes between two rival cult groups, Ave and Eye.
The governor, in a statement issued through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, expressed shock and disapproval of the killings, urging the police and other security agencies to take decisive action to quell the cult clashes. He emphasized the need for intelligence gathering to apprehend the masterminds behind these attacks and stated that all perpetrators would face the consequences of the law.
Governor Adeleke made it clear that his administration would not tolerate actions that disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the state, and he called for an immediate end to the violence in Ilesa. He directed the Commissioner of Police and other security chiefs to take swift action to restore peace and ensure that those responsible for the violence face justice.
