The Osun State government has set the record straight regarding claims of Governor Ademola Adeleke kneeling to beg his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde. Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, firmly denied the private meeting as reported.
Contrary to an online publication’s account, Rasheed explained that Adeleke’s visit to Oyo State Governor’s lodge was for a constructive purpose. The leaders assessed the relationship and strategized to strengthen the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West region, addressing issues like party leadership vacancies. The interaction took place openly and respectfully, with both governors pledging unity for the party’s progress in the zone. An emergency zonal meeting is scheduled to further their collaborative efforts later this week.
