Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman may be set for an exit from Bergamo, with reports suggesting Atlanta’s management has softened its stance in his transfer.
Atlanta is now reportedly open to selling Lookman next summer and has placed a price tag on the Nigerian international.
The 27-year-old has been a key figure for Atlanta, leading them to their first title in 60 years with a stunning Europa League final hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen. Due to his importance, Atlanta resisted selling him last summer, despite significant interest from to European clubs.
While Atlanta’s leadership had previously made negotiations challenging, frustrating clubs like Paris-Saint Germain, who had agreed to personal terms with Ademola, their position appears to have changed. The club is now willing to let their star player go.
According to a report by Totto Atlanta, the club has set a €60 million price tag on Lookman, and they plan to reinvest about half of the proceeds from his sale into acquiring a younger winger.
The former England U-21 international has had a journeyman career, playing for six clubs so far. Lookman, known for his ambition, attempted to push for a move to PSG last summer.
Lookman still harbors hopes for joining PSG, having already reached a personal terms agreement with the French champions, and is expected to pursue the move again next summer.
